It’s Giving Candyland

The Prince William County Department of Economic Development and Tourism’s (PWCDEDT) 2024 Year in Review is a 60-page annual report detailing important economic and visitor data, significant projects, and the latest program accomplishments.

Designed to showcase the department’s strategic goals as well as the growing scope of work for the team, the report features more than 40 county businesses and community partners. In addition, this year’s report features more than 10 pages of data, including the following top-level statistics:

• The department won 51 projects last year, adding $2.3 billion in intended capital investment along with 1411 new and retained jobs in the county.
• Visitors spent more than $511 million in the county last year, including 2.2 million overnight trips.

Yet business in Northern Virginia is far from the usual path, so the PWCDEDT team applied a dose of whimsy to this year’s annual report experience.

• The digital report features playful storytelling, links and videos, and an interactive table of contents designed to evoke the classic children’s board game, Candyland, with colorful twisting turns.
  
  
• The printed report features a centerfold tear-out map that blends the best of the business districts and visitor destinations in Prince William County, while giving an overview of what is coming next on the development horizon.

"We wanted to provide a report that would not just capture the past but also set a tone for how our team is approaching our county’s business and visitor communities," said Christina Winn, executive director, PWCDEDT. "I hope you flip through this report based on the path that makes the most sense to you. As a department charged with growing our commercial tax base, our destination will continue to move with the pace of business, always adapting to a changing adventure."
