Escaping from Communist control in South Vietnam, An Nguyen sought refuge in the United States in 1980. Armed with nothing more than fierce determination, he set out to build a life in his new home. Within just five years of settling in Oakland, California, he had not only learned English but also earned a computer science degree from Berkeley.

An co-founded NCS Technologies in 1996, and he serves as the company's president. The company moved to Prince William County in 2002, and An recently told his story to PWCDED.

NCS Technologies is known for providing custom, scalable workstation solutions for both government and civilian applications. It also develops rugged tactical hardware used on the battlefield by all branches of the U.S. military.

Recently, NCS expanded its operations and moved its headquarters to a state-of-the-art facility at 9601 Discovery Blvd in Innovation Park, Manassas.
