You might come to the Calibrate Small Business Conference next week for the insights, but we hope you'll stay for the opportunities to support local businesses along this calm and serene waterfront location.

Belmont Bay is right outside the door and the local shops are a 10-minute walk; enough time to reset your brain and maybe spark your next big idea.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

1. Take your conversation outside

The waterfront trails and the boardwalk double as walk-and-talk meeting spaces. Take a stroll for a quick debrief, a one-on-one, or five minutes to yourself between sessions. It’s productive without trying too hard.

2. Reset with a stop at Rooted Yoga

If your brain is full (and it should be), this is your exhale. Rooted Yoga offers a calm, welcoming space where you can drop in for a class or just take a moment to breathe in the lobby. It’s the perfect counterbalance to a packed morning of strategy and ideas

  • Not to mention: it’s owned by Calibrate Committee member Nieca Bullock.

3. Swing by Harborside Market for a Quick Grab-and-Go

At this capacity conference, the complimentary catering is first-come, first-served. Think of this as your convenient stop for a quick snack, a drink, or something easy to take back with you or before you hit the road back to the office.

  • Events 101 Tip: This is your backup snack strategy (i.e., your "I can't network when I'm hangry" insurance policy.)

4. Grab a glass (and a moment) at The Spot at Belmont Bay

Occoquan locals know what we mean: this is your unofficial networking lounge after the event. Whether you’re debriefing a session or just need to unwind, plan to head to The Spot when you're ready to relax.

  • Bonus: it’s a great place to turn "we should connect" into an actual conversation.

5. Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude

So it's not quite Margaritaville, but consider the Belmont Bay marina an open water invitation to slow down. No agenda, no noise—just boats coming and going, and a little space to think. Think of it as docking your brain for a minute before heading back out.

  • As the first marina at the mouth of the Occoquan River, this area will be featured in the upcoming PWCDEDT's Maritime and Waterfront Study debuting late this year.

Whether you're joining us for the first time or you're a Prince William County resident since birth, we hope you'll find a moment to enjoy Belmont Bay and find something that sticks with you long after the conference wraps.
